I photographed many time bald eagles in flight and catching a fish but I never be lucky enough till now to photograph the eagle with a red snapper in his talons.
No need to say that I'm very excited about this picture, I'm photographing bald eagles for years and I never get bored but it is also difficult to top the shots I already have. Now it simply takes more time to get better shots. This one I definitely count to one of my new best photos of bald eagles, simply because it is so unique. I have not seen it very often that the eagles go for a red snapper but this time we watched this eagle for a long time, he was coming down multiple times but never got the fish (must be very frustrating) but at the end he did and I was able to capture it.
Even with my experience I have with bald eagles, even that I think to know that I can predict their movements (at least once a while) - it still needs this extra bit of luck to get the perfect shot. ... continue below the picture...
I got this one along the Great Bear Rainforest coast where I was able to spend a little bit of time. I will show you more bald eagles and coastal bears from there very soon.
