A Native American mask of an owl by Wally Bernard on Northern Vancouver Island. Owl masks have large round eye sockets, and a short but sharp beak. This mask is carved from red cedar and has cedar rope and bark tufts. The owl in Kwakwaka'wakw legend represents the wise one and is a messenger. See the extensive collection of Native american masks on display at Just Art Gallery in Port McNeill, Northern Vancouver Island.
