The summer months off Northern Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada is prime viewing to be able to see the Northern Resident Killer Whales in their natural environment. This lonely male Killer Whale surfaces during the sunset hours and was spotted by whale watchers on the return trip home from a whale watching expedition.
The yellow lighting at sunset filters across the sky, which in turn reflects off the calm waters. The background is picturesque in its yellow shading with the mountain range spanning across the horizon.
The calmness of the water, allows whale watchers to clearly hear the sound coming from the blowhole of this Northern Resident Killer Whale.
