The masks are used to hide the identity of the people while the costumes can be as outrageous and flamboyant as ever. These are the rules of the Carnival, a part of the Venetian culture in the Italian city of Venice for centuries.
Throughout the unique city of Venice is evidence of its culture even in the form of the touristy market stalls where local Italian people sell their artfully crafted masks and other souvenirs.

I photographed this photo with the digital SLR camera model Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II, aperture of f/5.6, exposure time of 1/60 sec. on ISO 100, as always I used a original Canon Lens, the focus lenght for this picture was 35mm.
