Many will gather here at any time of the day for a drink, a city event, or just to sit and people watch. This picture was taken when dusk had fallen on the city and the historic buildings are lit up. This city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site so it is protected and preserved for every generation to enjoy.

... That is very evident in the upkeep of the historic buildings today and when you walk the streets of Siena, you feel as if you have been transported back in time.
The entire city is built around the Piazza del Campo, and it is considered to be one of the best examples of a Medieval square in Europe. It not only hosts events year-round but it is also the principal meeting place. The Torre del Mangia and Plazzo Pubblico are two buildings facing the Piazza del Campo.
