A good reason not to exit your vehicle to look around the rocks! As cute and sedate as a polar bear looks even when its resting, they are the world's largest land carnivore and can move pretty fast.
The polar bears congregate near the town of Churchill on the shores of Hudson Bay in Manitoba - it's here that they rest and wait for the pack ice to build up enough in the bay to allow them access to their prey, ringed seals. The Churchill Wildlife Management Area is one of the best places to view these cute animals who lounge around on rocks, and beside the many lakes and ponds.
