From the beach at Cape Egmont, Taranaki on the North Island of New Zealand, a mass of clouds fills the sky just as the sunset begins to explode. In the foreground, the black clouds are too thick for the sun to break through but the billowy white clouds become tinted with shades of blues, pinks and yellows.
From the edges of the white clouds, rays of light extend outwards from the clouds as the sun becomes blocked out. It is fascinating how the sun has so much natural power and can turn a gloomy looking sunset into a magical display of hues.
Whether the white clouds will win the battle of what lays ahead for the people at the beach for the next day around Cape Egmont is yet to be seen.
