One of the many activities to do in Riding Mountain National Park is to go fishing, as Lake Audy is an excellent fishing spot with plenty of fish stock to choose from and many people come here to participate in the abundant fishing. It is a particularly popular family vacation destination and as can be seen here, a father with his two sons enjoy fishing for northern pike at sunset. There are many different kinds of fish in the lake, the most abundant being Northern Pike, but fish stocks are controlled so that overfishing does not occur.
In 2002, following on from previous years, Riding Mountain National Park did impose some strict regulations on fishing in Lake Audy, so as to maintain the current fish stocks and give them time to replenish. They have allowed ice fishing in Lake Audy, but that is still controlled as well. They also implemented an aquatic education program to ensure that fishing in the lake does not have any negative effects on the ecosystem.
Lake Audy is a gorgeous freshwater lake that people can go canoeing on, swim in, camp by, and of course fish in. It is a popular tourist destination in Manitoba and is located in one of the most picturesque areas of the province. It is a small campground but usually a busy one, whether people are there to stay for a while or if they are just passing through.
