The River Ara or Rio Ara begins as a little stream on Monte Perdido (10997 feet), one of the more rugged parts of the Pyrenees mountains in Huesca, Aragon in Spain. As the Rio Ara rushes down the mountain valley it widens and becomes a rushing river on its way downstream. Along the way the Ara will pass San Nicolas de Bujaruelo, a 12th century church now in ruins.Rio Ara (River Ara) enroute to Bujaruelo, Pirineo Aragones, Parcque Nacional de Ordesa y Monte Perdido, UNESCO World Heritage Site, Pyrenees, Huesca, Aragon, Spain, Europe.
