The charming little village of Moustiers Sainte Marie in the Alpes de Haute, Provence, France is perched on the side of limestone cliffs, so for any gardens or orchards to survive terraced walls are a necessity. The wildflowers that grow on or alongside the landscape of these walls add to the beauty of this romantic village, Moustiers Sainte Marie in Provence.
This region of Provence in southern France consists of the Alpes de Haute and the Cote d'Azur so the wildflowers of the area are plentiful and the terraced walls are a common sight in all the hillside towns and village. Moustiers Sainte Marie is situated at the western entrance of the Gorges du Verdon in Provence and has a waterfall running through the centre of the village.
On clear evenings the setting sun shines on the cliffs and across the landscape and for just a few minutes the village, terraced walls and wildflowers are bathed in a lovely pink glow, leaving visitors with a wonderful memory of Moustiers Sainte Marie in Provence, France.
