There is a fort within a fortress where lookout towers and small shelters were always prepared for any emergency situation.
The King's Bastion is the largest area around the fortress, not only the building itself but the grounds as well. Tourists can wander the grounds where they will pass by costumed interpreters playing their parts dating back to the eighteenth century.
