Cafe Demel began in 1786 in Vienna, Austria on the Michaelerplatz and was home to a very well known chocolatier. In this bakery you will find delicacies that are made in Vienna and only a trip to Austria will give you the opportunity to try some of this delicious treats.The interior is in the Baroque style and there are elegant chandeliers that adorn the ceilings. Beautiful glass mirrors line the walls and the subtle colors are the ideal finishing touch to the Demel in Vienna, Austria.Often you will find lineups outside just to try some of the cakes, pastries and chocolates. The Demel and the Sacher in Vienna, Austria are reasonably expensive but each confectionary has a few different types of sweets to test.Christof Demel who was the original owner's son, took over the bakery in 1857 and uprooted it to its new location in the Kohlmarkt where it remains today.
