The Mistaya Canyon is a year round attraction in Banff National Park, Alberta. During the winter months, the snow and ice create an interesting scene of patterns as it lays on the swirly rock formations.

During the winter months the canyon walls, which have been carved out by the Mistaya River, collect layers of snow and ice which create pretty formations on each level. Most tourists see the setting during the summer months only however, the scene is quite different during the winter especially after the snowfall.
