Young Orchids: Scientific Name:
Phalaenopsis
Young orchids prefer warm temperatures so they can grow to their fullest potential but are adaptable to more comfortable conditions if tended to properly. Orchids seem to flower at a considerably better growth rate when the temperature drops at night to about five degrees different for a period of 2 to 4 week consecutive weeks.
The young orchids do not require much watering and light is quite essential to the orchid plant. Direct sunlight is not recommended as the leaves will burn and produce brown marks and dark areas make the orchids leaves sag and they will rarely flower.
