Snow piles rest atop the rocks alongside a pool of water during the winter in the Wildgerlos Valley in the Salzburger Land of Austria, Europe while a waterfall becomes frozen. Around the base of the rocks, a small sheet of ice forms in ring formations as the waterfall stops dead in its track as the chilly temperatures in the Wildgerlos Valley are below freezing.
The winter chill can bring in some extremely cold winds, but the beauty of the landscape when these conditions hit is picturesque. Always be prepared and only experienced winter hikers should trek through Wildgerlos Valley in the Salzburger Land in Austria to view the beauty of a frozen glacier waterfall.
