With the blue colored water of the Hudson Bay in the background, a Polar Bear roams the rock cliffs allowing us to capture this photo. Winter is slowly starting to arrive around Churchill, Manitoba as the tundra starts to become frozen and the snowfall is ready to follow right behind it.
This is what the Polar Bear has been waiting for and once the Hudson Bay freezes over, these mammals will head to the coastline shores in search of ringed seals. A favorite delicacy of the Polar Bear which is easy to capture once the ice begins to build and the Polar Bear can venture farther out across the ice.
You never know what type of wildlife will wander over the rock cliffs as the cold winter climate allows the area around the Hudson Bay to remain untouched by humans. The landscape consists of tundra, boreal forest and pack ice which appeals to a vast amount of wildlife.
Polar bears, belugas, caribou, seals, arctic foxes and ptarmigans are just a short list of all the wildlife that resides near the Hudson Bay in Churchill, Manitoba. Nothing beats the sight of a large Polar Bear arising from the rocky tundra as the sun glistens of his white colored coat.
While trying to capture a photo like this, patience is very important as well as the lighting and surroundings. Wildlife is one of the hardest type of picture to take as you must work with the animals, the animals very rarely will work with you.
