White Baby Seals: Scientific Name:
Phoca groenlandica
A small group of white coats or baby harp seals near the edge of some pack ice in the Gulf of St Lawrence near Newfoundland. These baby seals are around 2-3 days old and have begun to loose the yellowish colour in their fur which they have at birth. Their fluffy coats will be pure white which helps them to blend into their habitat and provide protection from predators.
