Small pebbles line the sandy beach at Ship Creek on the West Coast of the South Island of NZ, where the sun sparkles off the water as the waves break along the coastline. Ship Creek is known for its beauty and the story of a shipwreck originating back to 1871 when a large piece of wood from a ship washed up on the isolated shore which was strange to the NZ area.
About four years later, other pieces were found and research discovered they were the remains of a sailing ship. In 1920, more pieces were washed up and in 1973, what was left of the ship was found off Victoria, Australia by a group of divers. This is where the ship named the Schomberg went down in 1855 and the pieces found along Ship Creek had drifted 2000 kilometers onto...
