The sight of waterfalls either powerful and thundering or gently flowing with refreshing sounds are one of my favourite subjects for photography.
Usually waterfalls are geological formations which have been created along the usual river, stream, or creek path. Water is erosive, while rock is made of a variety of materials some that are hard and erosion-resistant and others that are soft and can be easily washed away, undercut, or gouged out. Sometimes waterfalls can be created through catastrophic events such as earthquakes.
There are a variety of types of waterfalls such as Cascade, Horsetail, Fan, Punchbowl, Tiered, Multi stepped, and Plunge, just to name a few.
When it comes to waterfalls, I can spend hours with long exposure photography and a variety of compositions.
