Marokopa Falls in Waikato on the North Island of NZ flows over the rock ledges and drops thirty-six meters into the pool below. At the base of the larger pool, there are many smaller waterfalls which meander around the rocks continuing on their journey downstream.
Moss grows on the surrounding rocks as the waterfall squeezes through any openings it can find. When the water reaches its highest point in the Spring, many of these rocks will disappear below the surface of the water.
To reach Marokopa Falls, one must park at the car parking lot and hike for approximately ten minutes along a bush walk. After this short hike, the beauty of this stunning waterfall will appear before you where you can listen to the sound of the water drop to the pool below.
