The tower of the Umpqua Lighthouse in Oregon stands at sixty-five feet high and is located at one hundred and sixty-five feet over the southern end of Winchester Bay. You can tour through the Umpqua Lighthouse if you are traveling the Oregon Coast in between May and the end of September.
This was not the original lighthouse as one was built in 1857 on the north end of the Umpqua River. A very intense storm that hit the Oregon Coast in 1861, destroyed the lighthouse and sent it tumbling into the river below.

A fantastic place to stay for a couple of nights and you are within easy access to view the lighthouse and the other amenities in Umpqua Lighthouse State Park along the Oregon coast.
