Christmas is celebrated all over the Oregon Coast and this particular decoration was placed on the Umpqua Lighthouse in Oregon, USA. The green wreath blends in nicely with the green railing and roof of the lighthouse and the red ribbon matches the top section.
The tower of the Umpqua Lighthouse in Oregon stands at sixty-five feet high and is located at one hundred and sixty-five feet over the southern end of Winchester Bay. You can tour through the Umpqua Lighthouse if you are traveling the Oregon Coast in between May and the end of September.
This was not the original lighthouse as one was built in 1857 on the north end of the Umpqua River. A very intense storm that hit the Oregon Coast in 1861, destroyed the lighthouse and sent it tumbling into the river below.
The newest lighthouse that stands today is situated in the Umpqua Lighthouse State Park in Oregon. Here you will find a campground where you can set up camp around Lake Marie and enjoy swimming and freshwater fishing. A fantastic place to stay for a couple of nights and you are within easy access to view the lighthouse and the other amenities in Umpqua Lighthouse State Park along the Oregon coast.
