There are many types of clouds that are seen on different days near Bishop and across California. Sunny days throughout California bring in two types of Cirrocumulus clouds as well as Cirrus and Cirrostratus clouds which are all relatively thin and wispy.
Two other types of clouds that are a little thicker that could bring in a few drops of rain are Altocumulus and Altostratus. The dark and heavy looking clouds are the last type of clouds which are known as Stratus or Towering Cumulus which pronounce thunderstorms and heavy rain.
