The Monastery of San Juan de la Pena in Huesca, Aragon in Spain was built on two levels. Probably constructed to blend into the large rock face to which the monastery abuts, similar to the rock temples in India which honour Buddha. The architecture is a charming mixture of Mozarabic and Romanesque.
