A majority of the main roads and the different train station pick up and drop offs in this picture look fairly clear but at times these mountain passes are piled high with snow. This train station is located at one of the higher elevations of the Swiss Alps which is between Oberwald and Realp and named the Furka Pass. The Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn is more expensive than driving but it is well worth it in time and safety when the passes are blanketed with snow. The train runs all year as some locals and tourists like to travel this way in the summer to get a different perspective of the lush green scenery of the Swiss Alps. Once the snow melts from these mountain passes, the views are spectacular from the vehicle train.
