The brilliant yellow color of the Torch Lily adorns the landscape when in full bloom along the Catlin Highway on the South Island of New Zealand. The flowers of the Torch Lily can be bright yellow like these ones or you may find them in radiant red and orange hues as well.
This particular Torch Lily is also known as a Primrose Beauty and requires an exceptional amount of sun to flourish. They can grow anywhere between two to three feet high and spread over a distance of one and a half to two and a half feet.
The Torch Lily or Primrose Beauty grows in a upright form with clumps of flowers beautifying the tops. They are not particular fond of wet soil and strong winds that could snap the flowers off due to their height.
