A moderately easy hike, the Tablelands Trail mostly follows an old road into an interesting geological "gold mine" on a 4 kilometre return journey.
The highlight is of course to view the earth's mantle - an ancient ocean floor which was pushed up into it's current position as a result of the effects of plate tectonics. The dramatic barren landscape of the valley is another highlight of hiking the Tablelands trail.
