The swingbridge across the Buller River on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand is the longest one in New Zealand and is enjoyable for people to visit and travel across as it's sturdy and safe but also sways in the breeze and can move when you are walking across it, making it a bit of a 'thrill ride'.
The bridge is 110 metres long, and is the best place to get pictures of the mighty Buller River. Pink granite also lines the sides of the gorge, and the best place to get a view of that is also from the bridge. People can go halfway across it and take pictures in both directions off the bridge and capture a shot of some of the beautiful scenery of New...
... Zealand.
As you can see, the bridge is very narrow with only one person able to fit in the space at one time. It is also made with wires all around, so that as you walk across it you can see all around you, including below, so if you are afraid of heights, it's probably not a good idea to try and cross it! The bridge is 60 feet above the river and so can be scary for anyone who doesn't want to sway above a raging river with only some wire around them for safety!
