Hanging from reinforced steel cables that are affixed into huge slabs of concrete, this suspension bridge is extremely safe to walk over.

This suspension bridge was built twenty five years ago but due to the increasing traffic into the park and the high winds that can make it sometimes difficult to cross, construction to build a new 92 meter suspension bridge is already underway. While the new bridge is being built, access to the park will be limited and people will have to cross the Waiohine River to reach the Tararua Forest Park in New Zealand which is not advisable depending on the height of the river.
