There are many Manitoba lakes, and at least six popular lakes in the Riding Mountain National Park Canada, including Lake Audy. Fishing is one of the numerous pastimes visitors can enjoy in the park, as well as horseback riding, hiking, biking or just watching the wildlife and the spectacular sunsets.
The surface of Lake Audy, at sundown, can be so calm the sky and water seem to merge together, giving the impression the wharf (in this photo) is stretching into the sky. The Riding Mountain National Park, in...
... Central Manitoba, received park status in 1930 and was officially opened in 1933, 2978 square kilometres in size, and almost 100 kilometers south of Brandon. The famous 'Grey Owl' worked in the park briefly in 1931, and then moved on to Prince Albert National Park.
There are about 260 species of birds and 60 species of animals to be seen in the park, including elk, moose, black bear, wolves and bison and 400 kilometers of trails to explore the interesting back-country.
