... ocean.

This is a brilliant time of day to be whale watching as the stillness is exhilarating except for the sound of the blows from the Orca after surfacing. The water is calm, the sky is aglow, mountains adorn the backdrop and wildlife can appear from anywhere off Northern Vancouver Island. The ideal place to release all the pressures of life and enjoy Orca passing by in the midst of a beautiful sunset.

Many whale watching trips leave from different locations around Northern Vancouver Island and during the summer months and into the fall, there can be a variety of Orca pods in these waters. On some days, you may be able to spend the entire trip with a few different pods, others may include a small family group and some days the Orca magically disappear and can not be found by anyone.

The success rate is very high during whale watching season but just like any species of wildlife, the Orca have alternate destinations and plans on a few chosen days.
