Stony Plain in Edmonton, Alberta is a historic town that continues to grow but still keeps it's past history in the limelight. A wall mural gives you an idea of the old train that ran through the town of Stony Plain in earlier days.

The first days of Stony Plain began in 1881 and wall murals on the exterior of some of the buildings around town are the ideal way for people to view the history. A variety of artists from across Canada painted the murals throughout Stony Plain and new ones are still in the planning process.

This program first began in 1989 and to date there are over twenty-seven murals. Each piece of art work was thoroughly researched by the artists to give them the feel of the town before their masterpiece was created.
