The historic St Katherine's Church, or Katharinenkirche as it's known in German, is dedicated to the saint, Catherine of Alexandria, and can be found near the famous plaza Hauptwache in downtown Frankfurt. The church is an excellent example of baroque style architecture, and was built between 1678 and 1681. Tragically, it was destroyed in 1944 due to bombing by the Allieds during World War II - it was then rebuilt between 1950 and 1954, once the war had ended.
