With black spots starting to fill in around the face of this Canadian Eskimo Dog puppy, he peers out of his home at the humans looking in at him. He rests peacefully amongst his brothers and sisters who are sleeping as they place their feet in the warmth of family members and wrap their bodies around each other.
Puppies at this age are hard to resist and this one was just too cute not to snap a picture or two. As this puppy looks out at us, you can see that he has a lot of growing to do so that his head matches the size of his large ears.
Once these puppies mature, they still require a great deal of love and care, especially in their diet and the amount of exercise they need. But while they are small, sleeping and eating is what these Canadian Eskimo Dog puppies like to do in the warmth of their own home. They love the winter conditions of Churchill, Manitoba as Canadian Eskimo Dogs are born to be raised in the cold climates and if trained to be pulling dog sleds, they are in their glory as this is one of their best talents.
There are not nearly enough Canadian Eskimo Dogs in existence and if breeders do not keep up with the demand, these dogs could eventually become extinct. When you see a group of puppies sleeping peacefully together, this is a good sign as the numbers are still increasing and will hopefully continue to do so in the future.
