The harbour of the town of Seal Cove on the western side of the Baie Verte Peninsula in Newfoundland, Canada is a community of fine qualities and true beauty. The population of Seal Cove started out with a total number of twenty people in 1871 and grew to have about eighty residents by 1904 because of the fishing industry, gardening and exceptional location for raising animals. By the 1960's the numbers increased to about 1000 because of the abestos mines that were opened but those numbers have now dropped to about 750 due to the downsizing of the mines at Baie Verte, Newfoundland.
