Surrounded by the warm Aegean Sea, Santorini is the southern most island of the Cycladic Islands.
Santorini is in fact made up of five islands with beautiful sandy beaches, traditionally built houses and churches, and breathtaking views of the caldera.
At one stage these islands were all joined together, that was until approximately 1645 BC when the middle of the island erupted and the Caldera was formed.
Today the tiny islands are a mecca for tourism with towns built on the cliff tops overlooking the caldera, and some of the most stunning sunsets anywhere on this earth.
