The town of Russell on the North Island of New Zealand is situated in the Bay of Islands and has so much charm and history that it is ideal for a romantic getaway or family vacation. There are approximately 1,100 people that live in this town which has increased by a couple of hundred since 2001. Once you have been to the town of Russell on the North Island of New Zealand, you will understand why people that come here on vacation find it to be the jewel in the many towns in the Bay of Islands.
