Information about the "Route 66 Road Arizona" photograph:

The road known as the historic Route 66 seems to be endless as it meanders its way through the desert land of Arizona. This part of Route 66 is near a small town known as Ash Fork, Arizona with a population of approximately 500 residents.

Route 66 was once the major highway but has now become an alternate road and is mainly used for tourists that come to explore the historic small towns of Arizona. The road is still very well taken care of so that travelers can venture on Route 66 and enjoy a pleasant trip.

Ash Fork, Arizona is one town that remained afloat due to tourism, mining and cattle that is raised on the ranches. Trucks still haul their loads along the I-40 and Ash Fork is located at the junction of the I-40 and Highway 89. A sawmill is to the west of Ash Fork and ranches to the south and this has a strong effect on the town.

The quiet drive along Route 66 in Arizona has fascinating places to stop and visit as well as stories to be heard about the history of the road surrounded by the desert landscape.
