The Corniche de l'Esterel along the Cote d'Azur in Provence, France is 32 kilometers of wild, red rocky coastline. From the border of Italy to Saint Raphael the scenic drive is magnificent. The area between Antheor and Le Trayas in this part of the Riviera has remained comparatively free of the creeping development, unlike some of the other spots along the same route.
The Massif de l'Esterel sheds its red volcanic rocks over the cliffs to the sea, making the coastline an ever changing beauty.
The pretty little village of Le Trayas on the Cote d'Azur, Provence is not the most 'touristy' spot - which makes it one of the more peaceful places to stay. Le Trayas is located about halfway between Saint Raphael and Cannes and is at the highest place on the Corniche de l'Esteral. Because of this, Le Trayas is divided in two sections by the N98 coast road.
The beaches and coves are wonderful to explore although there is no harbour. Most of the village is above the road and railway tracks, where one will find the houses, post office and a few shops. Le Trayas on the Cote d'Azur in Provence is just one of the many places to visit along this rocky coastline of Provence, France.
