The Pointe Mitis Lighthouse is situated in the pretty village of Metis sur Mer, Quebec, Canada and was until recently used as a research station by the Canadian Forest Service. The light house also still serves as an aid to navigation. The lighthouse was built in 1909 but established in 1874. The Canadian Forest Service used the light house to conduct research into developing Canada's sustainable forests.
