As we drove through Parc Omega in Montebello in Outaouais, Quebec, we spotted this cute little raccoon resting on a crevasse of a large rock as Autumn leaves encircle him. This raccoon keeps a close eye on us as enjoys the peacefulness of the wilderness habitat with other family members not being to far away.
Raccoons have a mask around their eyes that makes them look like a small bandit which is appropriate as these animals are extremely clever and intelligent but very mischievous. Around their bushy tails are dark and light colored rings and they have a beautiful coat of fur that is a blend of gray, brown and black.
Many people that reside in North America have seen a raccoon many times around their homes or parks and they can be considered somewhat of a pest. They love to clamber through garbage in search of food remnants and can become fairly vicious when fighting with family members over who gets what piece of food. A raccoon does not like to be cornered as they feel threatened and need their space to roam freely.
Parc Omega in Montebello, Quebec is a fascinating place to visit where you can explore the animals in an oasis of nature and experience a close encounter with many of the animal species. For safety reasons while in Parc Omega, you must remain in you car at all times as the animals wander freely in the wilderness and are known to approach your vehicle to have a good look at you.
You must be alert at all times as the smaller animals such as the raccoon will casually cross the roadway at any given time. This park is truly an incredible experience that everyone should visit while in Montebello, Quebec.
