The Church of Our Lady before Tyn is one of the most beautiful churches in Prague in the Czech Republic, and also one of the largest. The twin towers, with their many steeples, dominates the Old Town Square.
Construction of this Gothic church in Prague was begun in 1365 and completed in the 1380s. The Church of Our Lady before Tyn was the base for the Protestant Hussites in the 14th century, however, when the Roman Catholics became powerful the Hussite statues, tower bells and insignia were removed from the church.
