As well as being a popular lake for swimming, boating and fishing in, Lake Audy at Riding Mountain National Park in Manitoba, Canada, is a great spot for canoeing enthusiasts as well as nature lovers or photographers in search of a stunning sunset scene.
By canoe visitors can explore the far reaches of Lake Audy, a body of water fringed by boreal forest. There are several good canoe paddling lakes in Riding Mountain National Park such as Clear Lake and Lake Audy, and during the spring runoff or after heavy rain - Whirlpool River and Jackfish Creek are also navigable by canoe.
The campground at Lake Audy is situated on an elevated plain above the lake but with easy access to the water so that visitors can paddle right up to their campsite in their canoe. These lakeside campsites provide a great platform to watch the activity of wildlife and people or to watch a vibrant sunset herald the end of the day in Riding Mountain National Park.
