The delicious flavour of the Valencia or Seville orange can be found in the jars of marmalade for sale in stores in most of the world. To be able to buy the marmalade from a market on the way to Guadalest, in the Province of Alicante, which is in the Valencia Community of Spain, is most satisfying.
The marmalade for sale pictured here is 'amarga'(bitter), which would probably be made with the Seville orange.
Oranges are one fruit which grow in abundance in the Comunidad of Valenciana, with many orange groves lining the roads and bearing this juicy sweet fruit. During the spring the flowering trees fill the air with their pungent perfume.
As a large export earner, many of the harvested oranges are shipped overseas from Spain, however there is also plenty of local business. ... continue below the picture...
