Ettal Abbey was established in April 1330 and to date this Benedictine monastery is home to approximately 50 monks and is a major tourist attraction in Ettal, Bavaria.
When you arrive at the monastery and proceed through the archway the first view that captures your attention is the beautifully kept courtyard and the main church in the middle. The interior of the church is strikingly beautiful with gold and white being the main colors and murals, artwork and historic figures decorating the walls and ceilings.
