The Architect of these intriguing buildings is Santiago Calatrava who was born in Valenica, Spain in 1951.He is well known for his works in both Switzerland and Spain and most recently for his design of the super modern structures in the La Ciutat de les Arts i les Cienies Complex, otherwise known as the City of the Arts and Science, in downtown Valencia, Spain, Europe.L'Hemisferic is an IMAX Theatre and Planetarium and the and Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia is an innovative centre for the Performing arts. Each building within the complex, which also houses a science museum, is surrounded by large expanses of water in shallow pools.
