The Joshua Tree is found only in the Mojave Dessert in the extreme southwest of California, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona. The Joshua Tree also only grows at elevations from 2,000 to 6,000 feet (or 610 to 1829 metres), and enjoys dry soils on plains, slopes, and mesas. The Joshua Tree is the largest of the yucca family.
