The world which surrounds Castlepoint Lighthouse in Wairarapa, North Island of New Zealand can be very colorful at the end of some days when a sunset adorns the horizon. Pink, purple, yellow and orange hues span across the surface of the water as the sun sinks away for the day.The sunset lighting reflects off the water across to Castlepoint Lighthouse
and its scenic bay.
A colorful twinkling of light borders the edge of the bay as the rock formations separating the two bodies of water are outlined in darkness. The beacon atop the twenty-three meter high tower of the Castlepoint Lighthouse in New Zealand becomes brighter as the sky begins to lose its color. The white light will then be the sole watch tower at night around Castlepoint for the passing vessels as it lights the way for twenty-six nautical miles.
A long narrow wooden walk with a fair amount of stairs, leads you right to the base of the lighthouse where Mother Nature brings out her true colors at sunset. During the day, a walk along the rocky cliffs is where you will find fisherman trying to pull in the largest available fish.
Tourists who come to the North Island of New Zealand find the Wairarapa coastline a prime location to vacation as the beaches around the lagoon are spectacular and the sunsets are breathtaking. From the Castlepoint Lighthouse, one can watch the sky at sunset turn into a colorful display as the waves lap up along the rocky coastline below. A paradise for people who are looking for a romantic getaway.
