The rays from the sun turns the tops of the massive rock cliffs and beyond into a radiant natural wonder at sunset in the Verdon Canyon in the Provence, France. Stop, look and listen has a new meaning in the Verdon Canyon and is one that should exist at least once in everyone's life.
In the deep ravines amongst the canyon walls the Verdon River winds its way through Parc Naturel Regional du Verdon on its journey to Lac de Ste Croix in the Provence, France. The river runs for approximately twenty miles and a kayaking adventure down the river when sunset is near can be a fascinating experience.
If water sports are not on your agenda, the hiking trails throughout the canyon are incredible. Standing atop the rock ledges at sunset looking down upon the river in the Verdon Canyon makes one realize how peaceful and spectacular the area around France truly is.
Many tourists visit the Verdon Canyon on an annual basis as it is located on the French Riviera in the Provence, France which is a popular holiday destination.
