An artifact at the St Boniface Museum in the City of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada is the building itself which was built between 1845 and 1851. It started out as the convent for the Grey Nuns and has since been used as a hospital, school, boarding school, and hospice. The museum itself exhibits and interprets artefacts from the era of the fur trade and Red River colony as well as the Metis nation.
